Although it has featured everywhere as the light-hearted news item, it can't be much fun for Linda Walker, the 60-year-old geordie woman who woke up from a stroke with a Jamaican accent.
However, the condition may be more widespread than we thought, with an epidemic inside the Labour party. The government benches are full of people who spent the 80's and 90's speaking with a broad socialist accent are now to be found speaking not only with a new accent but a whole new language.
