Tory Literature

The local Tories have just dropped a leaflet through our door.

The thing is edited by our local Tory councillor and is called “In Touch”. Anybody who has not met the bloke will not appreciate the humour in this.

Actually I doubt if it was edited by him. I imagine that every ward is getting an identical leaflet, the only change being the name and photo of the local candidate.

The front page is an extended whinge about council tax generally, plus something about the Horsham & Crawley Conservative Future branch – whatever that is. On the other side there is a re-hashing of David Cameron’s recent touchy-feely pronouncements.

Right at the top of the front page it says “keeping In Touch with Broadfield South” – so why is there not a single thing about Broadfield South anywhere else?

Sounds exactly like the Southgate Tory leaflet from Dr Bloom, except with a different picture and byline.

I imagine that every ward in town has an identical one. I think the definition of the phrase “edited by” is “allowed someone to put my picture and name on it.”
