There has been filming going on at Waterloo station and the surrounding area all this week. I don’t know what it is for. Probably not a Hollywood blockbuster but certainly something on a larger scale than a new advert for Shake & Vac.
There have been crowds of extras filling the concourse of the station, queueing to go into the pub which was hired as a sort of marshalling yard for them, there were cameras on trolleys being pulled at high speed across the concourse and the roads have been full of trucks and trailers. They were there Monday morning and stayed for four days.
So far, so good, but there was also a helicopter hovering overhead for all four days as well, and the noise of a chopper right on top of your poorly-insulated office can get boring after the first hour! I still don’t know what it was all for, but I am keeping my eye out for something which features a lot of aerial shots of the London Eye.
